Sahara Rose is the host of the Highest Self Podcast, ranked as the #1 top podcast in the spirituality category on iTunes and best-selling author of Eat Feel Fresh and Idiot's Guide to Ayurveda.
She has been called “a leading voice for the millennial generation into the new paradigm shift” by Deepak Chopra.
She loves to make spiritual + Ayurvedic wisdom fun and relatable so it can serve the needs of today's people.
“This is Ayurveda's next evolutionary step. Sahara Rose has successfully refreshed and revitalized the ancient knowledge without watering down its significance and depth. She blends reverence for the tradition with an awareness of present-day needs. Above all, her book affirms that health surpasses the physical, an idea that ultimately has metaphysical implications when we ponder our place in the universe."
-Deepak Chopra, Foreword of Sahara's Idiot's Guide to Ayurveda
Who am I?
Well really, I’m a soul having a human experience dressed in a funny costume but I understand people on this planet like to define themselves to understand one another so here I go.
I’ve been fortunate enough to be called “a leading voice in the millennial generation into the new paradigm shift” by Deepak Chopra.
In my human life, I’ve written the two best-selling books in Ayurveda; Eat Feel Fresh: A Contemporary Plant-Based Ayurvedic Cookbook and Idiot’s Guide to Ayurveda, both with foreword by Dr. Deepak Chopra.
I also host the Highest Self Podcast, which is ranked as the #1 spirituality podcast on iTunes with over 11 million downloads since it's inception a year and a half ago and over 1 million unique downloads per month..
Recent + upcoming guests include Deepak Chopra, Don Miguel Ruiz, Gretchen Ruben, Seal, Danielle LaPorte, Heatherash Amara, Wim Hoff and many other total badasses. I also do weekly solocasts where I discuss topics from past lives to purpose to conscious relationships, wellness, self-care, entrepreneurship and everything in between!
I speak around the world on finding your dharma (life purpose) and Ayurveda for the modern-day at events and festivals around the world.
I was the featured nutrition speaker at Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Campaign Event at Harvard Medical School.
I’ve been featured in Vogue, Forbes, Yoga Journal, NBC News, Huffington Post, Girlboss, Refinery 29, Mind Body Green, Chalkboard Mag, Well + Good and a whole bunch of other places.
My values are truth, fun, freedom, purpose, joy and creativity.
I feel like my highest self when I am creating, whether it’s a podcast, book, program, artwork or even Instagram caption.
I am here to redefine what it means to be a spiritual person.
I believe the spiritual journey should be fun.
I believe we take ourselves way too seriously.
I believe there is no such thing as perfection.
I believe we learn best through laughter.
I believe in a new paradigm based on flow, ease and joy.
I believe I’m part of the soul crew brought back to this planet to bring heaven back to Earth.
I believe that our reality is a reflection of our beliefs.
I believe that our thoughts can create and heal illnesses.
I believe in healing our bodies holistically, with the connection of the mind, body and spirit.
I believe the reason why we are here is to raise consciousness.
I believe we each do so in different ways, according to our dharma (life purpose.)
I believe that we were each born with divine gifts we were meant to share with others, which is a reflection of our Doshas.
I believe that the best thing you can do for the planet is be a happy person.
I believe this life is a gift and when we treat it like one, everything shifts.
I believe that abundance is a result of worthiness.
I believe that sensuality is a superpower.
I believe that fun is our birthright.
I believe that we are transitioning into becoming more intuitive beings.
I believe that your vibe attracts your tribe.
I believe that authenticity always wins.
I’m into all archetypal work, from Doshas to mystical beings to Myers Brigg to goddesses and everything in between.
I’m a Vata-Pitta (channel ideas like a Vata, get shit done like a Pitta). I do have a Kapha face so people often guess I'm Kapha but I'm not actually that chill :P Working on it though! My massive Vata imbalance is what got me involved in Ayurveda to begin with.
Read the story about why I got involved with Ayurveda here.
I’m a Projector in Human Design (always coming up with ideas, able to see the big picture.)
I’m a Sag Sun + Moon with Scorpio Rising in Vedic Astrology; Capricorn Sun + Moon with Sag Rising in Western Astrology.
I’m a High Priestess Archetype (always teaching + leading)
My mystical being archetype is the Mermaid (I love exploring the depths of consciousness/ the ocean).
My spirit animals are the dolphin (fun and playful), jaguar (but fierce) and peacock (while keeping it graceful.)
I’m also super into essential oil magic, which has radically uplevelled my life and offer free Ayurvedic e-books, masterclasses and mentorship through the Path to Wellness Program
I also have the world’s cutest dog (not just saying that) named Chubby who literally lights up my life. He is a reincarnated yogi and just SO high vibe. Check out this podcast episode about where I talk about how he is my guru (if I were to have one—it would be him.) If you follow my Insta stories, you’ll see his incredible wisdom/ yoga moves/ fluffy face.
I’m also engaged to the most awesome dude, Steven. He manages DJ/ producers/ singer-songwriters and hates being in front of the camera. I still make him do photoshoots with me everywhere we go then he secretly loves the photos/ stares at them all day. He’s the one dream podcast guest I still am working on
A lot of people ask me if I grew up with super healthy, spiritual parents and the answer is no. I grew up eating McDonalds with no spiritual upbringing stuffing myself with bread. I had such bad allergies and asthma, I couldn’t play outside. That’s why I got into all of this and let me tell ya.. it works!
The best place to connect with me is over on Highest Self Podcast, where I post two weekly episodes, a solocast where I riff on consciousness, Ayurveda, spirituality, entrepreneurship, relationships or whatever else comes through.
Hit ya girl up on the gram. I post Dosha memes, mystical beings and all sorts of archetypal/ mind-body-spirit #werk (and the occasional twerk story) @iamsahararose
I’m just excited to be here and excited you’ve made it this far.
I have a feeling we are gonna be good friends (and eat lots of pineapple together).
